JBL Quantum Stream is a convenient universal USB microphone

A compact microphone with smart mounting and RGB mood lighting is an important part of a home sound studio.

A clear and clean sound is very important for any serious podcaster, streamer or Youtuber. It was with these in mind that JBL designed its first USB microphone, the Quantum Stream. As the name suggests, the new microphone is part of JBL’s Quantum gaming products line, which has so far included a wide range of gaming headsets and computer speakers.

Quantum Stream is special in many ways. The microphone has two electret elements that can capture sound with both a directional cardioid profile and as multi-directional sound. This means that the Stream can also successfully record the speech of several different speakers gathered around the microphone. The sound is transmitted at a sampling frequency of 96 KHz, which makes post production more convenient and helps to maintain sound.

The microphone features a large and convenient mute button. This way, you don’t have to look for it in panic when you are about to cough. Of course, the microphone also features a headphone jack allowing you to connect standard headphones to monitor the sound level and a control to adjust the volume of the headphones. The Stream with a durable metal case has a modern USB-C port connection that connects the microphone to both a computer and a smart device, making the Stream an indispensable part of a mobile sound studio. The JBL Quantum Steam has a smart 360-degree swivel tripod-mount and a stand that can be easily removed. This allows the microphone to be placed on a stabiliser stand.

Of course, the microphone is also compatible with the JBL QuantumENGINE software, which allows you to adjust sound quality and set the microphone in the RGB lighting mode. By default, the RGB light ring at the bottom of the microphone indicates when the microphone is muted or which mode it is currently in.
