The TV series of the same name based on the much-loved exclusive Sony PlayStation game The Last of Us will premiere on 16 January. „The last of US“ new sci-fi series has already received a lot of praise from critics even before its premiere. The series is based on one of the most successful video games of all time created by the Naughty Dog studio, which has also developed another highly rated video games series, Uncharted.
„The series The Last of Us“ takes place 20 years after the destruction of modern civilization. A hardened survivor Joel is tasked with smuggling a 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What started out as a simple task soon turns into a brutal, heart-breaking journey. Joel and Ellie must cross the entire United States together and depend on each other for survival.
The series stars acclaimed actors Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (His Dark Materials and Game of Thrones) as Joel and Ellie, respectively. Gabriel Luna (True Detective) plays Tommy, Joel’s younger brother and ex-soldier; Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us video games, The Flight Attendant) as resistance leader Marlene, and Estonian-born Anna Torv (Fringe) as Tess, a smuggler and experienced survivor.
